Snowy Penticton Beach
I am back in Penticton where although there’s a bit of snow, it’s much warmer than the -30°C (-22F) I left behind in the subarctic. Penticton’s -2C (28F) is so much better; almost balmy! 😉
Runway Sundogs
A sunrise takeoff lead to a perfect view of these sundogs. Sundogs are caused by the refraction of light through ice crystals; essentially, they are ice particle reflections.
Sundogs only occur in rather cold temperatures; these are the result of -27C (-17F).

Marshalling
Aircraft marshalling is a very important job, but it can be a very difficult one, especially in bitterly cold (or brutally hot) weather.
Here’s to all the aircraft marshallers who help to keep pilots and their passengers safe.
