As my son used to say when he was a teenager, sometimes you just need to chillax (especially if it’s a beautiful September day). 🙂

Happy Sunday.

Happy Sunday.
When I first saw this plant I thought it was a fake, but then I touched it and discovered that it’s some sort of succulent.

Nevertheless, speaking of plants, here’s a vineyard view from the southern Okanagan’s Black Sage Bench. The grapes are plump and nearing harvesting.

Happy Saturday.
We had a gorgeous autumn day walking along Lake Okanagan from the village of Naramata.

There were so few signs of the seasonal change that it really almost felt like summer!
Happy Friday.
We took a walk through Penticton’s Japanese Garden.

The water level in the pond had dropped a lot; not surprising considering how dry August was.

We stopped to take a look at the many colourful koi. They expected us to feed them and swam eagerly to the pond’s edge.

Some of them are quite large!

This is a very tranquil garden on the edge of Lake Okanagan; such a beautiful spot.
Happy Thursday.

Discovering Sardinia one beach after another I am back to my new base and I’ll have to admit that I already missed it! The post Tuerredda appeared …
Tuerredda
Beautiful photos of the beaches of Sardinia from Flavia Vinci. I hope you take a look at Flavia’s blog; she has many more gorgeous photos posted there.

Woodland Walk near Upwey This month, all the photographs in the series were taken in September, though not this year. My digital pictures go back to …

One of Stuart’s beautiful photos taken near Upwey, a village in Dorset, England.
These ornamental grasses have turned a golden colour that is contrasting beautifully with the blue sky and green bushes.

We’re coming to that time of year when the contrasts will become more and more prevalent.
Happy Monday.
After a mostly sunny day, the weather became overcast, but it was still about 20C (68F) and very comfortable for an evening walk.

We saw this sailboat heading into the Penticton marina for the night, which seemed a good idea to me as the wind was coming up quite strongly. It seems we are getting some residual effects from the typhoon that just crossed the Pacific and bumped into the coast. That interaction is much farther north in Alaska, but apparently, this is leading to significant weather impacts in the south, wind included.
Happy Sunday.
I love this light pink rose that was blooming contentedly in Penticton’s public rose garden.

Isn’t it pretty?
Happy Saturday.
I saw this rather intricate web on top of a bush.

There were lots of bits of leaves and other detritus caught in it, but I didn’t see anything a spider would want to eat.

It’s possible that’s this is the work of spider mites (they actually eat the plants they live on) but I don’t think so. The bush seems to be healthy and growing and the web strands seem much too large to be the work of tiny mites.
Happy Friday.
