        1. Yes, I remembered that you had. We sold our original place a year ago (the place we bought when we first arrived) and bought a new one on the Lake Okanagan end, but we seriously looked at Naramata before we purchased. In the end we wanted to be in a very walkable location to services and trails, and we’re very happy with where we are.

          1. You definitely are away from town services and it’s a bit of a winding drive (not too bad, but enough). We lived in Penticton the first year and then moved out to Naramata. The whole Okanagan Valley is beautiful for most of the year.

          2. Yes, it certainly is. The drive out to Naramata is stunning, but having to do it all the time would take away some of the pleasure. There’s a great inn and restaurant in Naramata. Really good.

          3. They are (or were) two different places. The Naramata Inn was built in 1907 as the Naramata Hotel and is still operating, but is protected as a heritage building. It has one of the best restaurants in the Okanagan, I would say.
The Country Squire closed in 2003 but its owners went on to start the very successful Cannery Brewing company in Penticton. Their Naramata Nut Brown beer is extremely popular. Their pub is just down the street from us and we love to go there for beer and nachos. So good!

  1. It definitely looks like a beautiful day to chill by the water and enjoy the views. It’s currently cold and rainy here, so it’s nice to live vicariously through your pictures.

    1. I’m glad you’re getting a little sun from the photos. September here has turned into a gorgeous month. The wildfires are mostly out so the smoke is gone and the daily highs are almost perfect. Those chairs on the dock looked so classically evocative of summer.

I'd love to hear what you have to say!
