We left the smoky Okanagan Valley and had a very continuously smoky drive until we reached Jasper National Park …

… where the rain started, lots of it. The atmosphere certainly needed a good cleaning, and I hope this rain was a big help toward dousing some of these wildfires we have.

Happy Monday. 🙂
I am heading to the Northwest Territories, leaving behind my beautiful but smoky Okanagan Valley; we are presently socked in by smoke from a huge fire to the north of us.

I hope some desperately needed rain arrives soon.

I’ve wondered what these were originally used for, but now they are bedside water bottles.
Have a great Saturday. 🙂
More hydrangeas, but I do like them …

… mountain hydrangeas are the least common hydrangea. These have much smaller flowers but the plants are extremely hardy and will survive harsh winters and climates.

And very pretty!
A couple of views from my walk yesterday morning on Penticton’s KVR Trail.

Happy Thursday. 🙂
I found these beautifully unusual hydrangeas, blue and cream.

And on the same plant, a much more uniform blue, but with hints of lighter blue on some of the petals.

Hydrangeas are such lovely, interesting plants. 🙂
Very bright and cheery and safely surviving the drought in someone’s private garden.

On the other hand, these were in a public garden and although still pretty, were struggling quite a bit more.

Sometimes, it’s all about conditions outside your control.
An evening walk along Vancouver’s sea wall.

Happy Monday. 🙂

Happy Sunday. 🙂
