A tranquil autumn day on Lake Okanagan beach.

Happy Saturday. 🙂

Happy Saturday. 🙂
From a Penticton garden …

… a concentration of sunny summer goodness in a few square centimetres.
And you can even eat the seeds!
Happy Friday. 🙂

Pictures to entertain, spark interest, and inspire you to create with words or images, if you wish. Whether it’s a poem, story, play, novel, memory, …

One more view of Great Slave Lake …

… before it starts to freeze. I awoke this morning to 0°C. It will begin soon.
Don’t look at me like that! I swear! The fish are over there!

Another great photo from the comedy wildlife photo competition.
An amber and green maple tree.

One of the last red roses.

Pink and green and yellow around a pond.

There’s a lingering warmth in the air but there are also constant, powerful reminders of what is to come.
I love how beautiful autumn can be. Tranquil, serene, windless, comfortably warm. On those days it feels a bit like the earth has relaxed into a comfortable chair and is taking a quiet breath of satisfaction on a job well done.
I think this photo represents that sense rather well.

Happy Tuesday. 🙂
I found some tea roses still blooming in their cheery pink.

They won’t last much longer now, but it was lovely to see them still rosing along.

Having spent a week in Penticton, I am now back in the north. There aren’t any leftover roses here, as it’s too chilly in October!
It was really great to experience some gentler autumn weather for a little bit, though.
This Okanagan creek, lovely and luxuriant in the summer, is gently fading into autumn.

Still lovely in its decline, the true beauty is knowing it will be back.
The wine grapes are heavy and lush and ready for harvest.

Grapes have been cultivated and sold for thousands of years, a trade that started in Israel, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran and Turkey. At present, about 75 percent of the grapes grown worldwide are used to make wine. We certainly like our grape juice!
Happy Saturday. 🙂
