Our local duck flock has gathered in their favourite creek to rest and sleep.

There was some sleepy chatting, but mostly there was a lot of settling and snoozing.

Well fed and comfortable, they seemed to be doing well.
Happy Saturday.

This fountain in our Japanese garden was quite impaired by the cold weather we had!

It was left running because the pond is full of fish, and given how shallow it is, they might have frozen in our recent cold snap. So it was still struggling along, with what looks like a collapsing volcanic snow-cone around it.
Here’s a similar view in black and white. which one do you prefer?

Happy Friday; happy weekend.
After our unusual and record-breaking Arctic blast that was quickly followed by a Pacific Ocean storm which dumped a record-breaking load of snow, it seems we are back on track. That means that we will return to our regularly scheduled rain, but in the meantime, we had a day of cloud clearing and sunny breaks accompanied by a pleasant temperature.

Happy Wednesday.

A beautifully tranquil autumn scene from Stuart Aken.

Happy Saturday; happy weekend.
The duck creek is open and our resident duck flock seems to be doing fine.

They appear to have come through the cold snap pretty well with feed from the city and snacks from passersby (including us).

I’ve noticed that even the small flock of over-wintering Canada geese have been accepting food as well; they’re usually quite standoffish, but any port in a storm. They’re probably wishing that they had migrated!
Happy Tuesday.

A beautiful misty shot of the Forest of Dean from Stuart Aken.
Fortunately, our cold snap is supposed to disappear by Monday or Tuesday, but it has brought along with it some clear days and nights.

A night walk produced this scene.
Happy Saturday; happy weekend.
We had a little sun yesterday. What a treat!

But we had to enjoy it because we’re back to the overcast again (and maybe some colder temperatures for a couple of days, too).
Happy Thursday.
The City of Penticton always puts on a light show during December, and this year added a tunnel.

The tunnel proved to be very popular, especially with children, and so it was decided that it should stay until the end of January.

Given how grey, rainy and overcast it has been – and as of today including a little snow – I agree with the city’s decision. These pretty lights are definitely a little mood booster.

Apparently we will be getting our rain back tomorrow but according to the weather gods, we are supposed to get SUN on Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
Happy Tuesday.
