This Okanagan creek, lovely and luxuriant in the summer, is gently fading into autumn.

Still lovely in its decline, the true beauty is knowing it will be back.

The wine grapes are heavy and lush and ready for harvest.

Grapes have been cultivated and sold for thousands of years, a trade that started in Israel, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran and Turkey. At present, about 75 percent of the grapes grown worldwide are used to make wine. We certainly like our grape juice!
Happy Saturday. đ
This photo, taken on September 29 in the village of Naramata, doesnât show many signs of autumn.

But it definitely is a fall picture as you can tell from the yellow leaves at the sides of the road.
Hereâs to a very slow autumn – itâs good for us.
Happy Friday. đ

A beautiful North Sea beach in the UK, courtesy of Stuart.
During a long walk on Pentictonâs nearby KVR trail, I found this very colourful tree. It is undergoing an interesting transformation from green to pure red. This part of the trail is very dry (and especially this year) with powdery soil and many greyish-green sage bushes, so this tree really stood out. It must be very hardy to have stayed green during this yearâs drought.

Later on, I found another brilliantly red tree.

Theyâre so impressively vibrant!
The Okanagan Valley is known for its reds – red wines, that is – but these reds are equally dazzling.

A view of Lake Okanagan as I flew along the airway on short final into Kelowna Airport.

I am travelling south from NWT to the Okanagan Valley. Hereâs a view from 23,000 ft (7010m) above Great Slave Lake.
Happy Sunday. đ
I am travelling back to the Okanagan this weekend, but in the meantime, I am enjoying the gorgeous yellows that we have here in NWT.

Have a happy Saturday!
