Some colourful scenes from the Caribbean.

Happy Monday.
Some colourful scenes from the Caribbean.

Happy Monday.
Until yesterday we have had lovely weather here in the Caribbean …

… but a tropical storm passing to the east of us has caused some surf, overcast and rain showers. The beaches were flying red flags, a warning not to swim since the waves were powerful enough to easily knock people over. I believe this storm is headed to Nova Scotia where it will drop a lot of rain.

The ocean so often looks tame and inviting, but it is a supremely powerful force on our planet that should be respected. I am strongly reminded that if we don’t respect our climate, our climate won’t respect us.
A water garden …

… is lovely to behold during the day …

… but a few lights make an exotic and dramatic difference at night.
Happy Friday.
A yearling peacock, learning to strut.

A monolithic cruise ship, passing the beach where I’ve parked myself. 😎

And, a lovely specimen from the orchid garden.

Happy Thursday.
The sky here in the Caribbean is bright blue and contrasts intensely with the lush green of the trees.

Night descends quickly and firmly; twilight doesn’t last long.

Sometimes it catches a fritillary butterfly unawares, seized in the efficient arrival of a confusing artificial light.

I carefully moved this sleepy little one to a nearby tree that was in the shadows.
Happy Wednesday.
M and I are in the sunny Caribbean where we are enjoying ocean beaches, warm weather and relaxation.

Lots of swimming and walking beckon.
Happy Tuesday.
I am enjoying the warmth. 🙂

My M on the beach.
Wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying the warmth of family, friends, weather, or the freedom of your own space.
Cheers. 🙂
