Have a good one.

Have a good one.
There are a lot of Adam’s Needle plants in bloom right now.

They are a type of yucca plant and they do quite well in this climate.

They also seem to last quite a long time while lending a very dramatic tone to a garden.
Happy Saturday.
We live near the creek that runs through Penticton, and although its name actually is “Penticton Creek,” it definitely behaves and looks more like a river at times.

Our resident mallard duck flock loves this creek and lives near the outflow end where it empties into Okanagan Lake. Everyone loves them, feeds them and fusses over them. They’ve definitely found themselves a good gig!
A lovely summer view over the Okanagan Valley.

Happy Tuesday.
Blue beauties!

Have a good week.
We had some rain today, a very good thing. It wasn’t a lot, but at least everything is damp.

We were on the edge of a large thunderstorm; the wind suddenly came up, we could hear the big boomers, and of course, the skies darkened dramatically.

Except for the light rain shower, the storm passed us by though. Afterward, the clouds began to break up and were underlit by the setting sun, a lovely side effect of the near-storm.
Happy Saturday.
The old saying, “fresh as a daisy” is rather shopworn, but nevertheless true. I love daisies; they always remind me of happy summer days, contentment and simple pleasures. While I’m a sucker for most any kind of flower, daisies are my all-time favourite.

I found a large billow of them slowly swaying in a nearby park garden.

They definitely put a big smile on my face!

I hope your weekend is as pretty as a daisy.
These grapes won’t be mature for at least two months, but in the meantime they’re nestled safely in the foliage.

Happy Thursday.

White peony in black and white
A beautiful white peony with contrasting black background from Vova Zinger. He has an amazing collection of floral photos on his blog!
This creek is less than a block away from home. The lower end of it, before it empties into Okanagan Lake, is a favourite of our resident ducks.

In the twilight of a summer evening, it’s lovely to take a stroll on the path next to the creek.

The path itself is also quite lovely. Doesn’t this look like it could be Hobbit country?
Happy Friday; happy weekend.
