I found this bright yellow flower among the masses of snow-on-the-mountain. Isn’t it pretty? I saw it in the corner only after I had taken the photo.
The lovely, the different, creeps into our lives in unexpected, silent ways, and it’s up to us to pay attention and honour the visit.
It has been snowing for almost three weeks. There have been gaps, but mostly, snow. In Chipewyan, yath. Falling. Almost like rain. Straight down. Heavy and fat and weighty. Definitely not just a few flakes. Not to be ignored.
It looks like this.
It’s really grey and it’s getting dark very early (and earlier all the time!).
I’m missing this.
Ah, summer. It’s only November and I have a while to go, so is it okay if I start dreaming about you now? Never too early?
I’m looking forward to seeing you again, old friend. 🙂
A little cloud obscuring a full moon and causing a halo.
I took these photos in late July at about 12 at night from a friend’s garden in southern Alberta. We had a lovely evening visit over dinner with the moon for company.
It’s wonderful to just be with someone you have known for a long time. 🙂

There is a large park and a lake with a nice beach near our home in the Okanagan Valley. There are lots of ducks looking for snacks there and they sometimes follow you around. These three were persistent.
I don’t don’t feed them because there is lots of regular duck food available and it’s much healthier for them. So, they were out of luck on the people food.
They are very sweet though and so cutely waddling around as M and I enjoyed an afternoon on the beach.

It has been a rather dodgy spring and summer also has had an interesting start. Well, not really. Kind of alternating. A couple of days of cold rain followed by a couple of days of sweltering humidity. Really unattractive.
But …
There have been wild roses.
And interesting clouds.
And panting northern hot dogs.
And lots of green growing.
And more wild roses.
But my, it’s been rainy and humid and cold.
Not the best spring/summer, but lots to appreciate.
