Late Evening Walk

This creek is less than a block away from home. The lower end of it, before it empties into Okanagan Lake, is a favourite of our resident ducks.

In the twilight of a summer evening, it’s lovely to take a stroll on the path next to the creek.

The path itself is also quite lovely. Doesn’t this look like it could be Hobbit country?

Happy Friday; happy weekend.

Highlights of Tromsø Norway, Where the Gulls Never Sleep

Highlights of Tromsø Norway, Where the Gulls Never Sleep

Beautiful photos of northern Norway from Travels Through My Lens. She is a wonderful photographer with many lovely and interesting photos on her site.

Weather Change

We have had quite a bit of overcast with rain showers over the last week or so.

While I would have liked more sun, I couldn’t help but think of the areas where people are desperate for rain because of the forest fires, so I instead appreciated how green everything is.

Today the cloud began to disperse, and I understand that we are supposed to have good weather for the weekend. That’s great because there’s a lot going on: an Elvis Festival, a Car Collectors’ Cruising Festival, and a Rock and Roll fundraiser. M and I already checked out the car collection – in some ways quite nostalgic.

Have a good weekend.

Happy Ducks

The ducks are happy again! Their favourite creek is now flowing at its normal levels, they have mated and moulted, and the rest of their summer will be pretty easy. The photo above shows male ducks; that’s because the mums have all the young ones down by the lake to hang out with the geese.

The dads get to kick back in and next to the creek, recovering from their recent moult.

Happy Friday.
