These lovely little flowers are a type of geranium known as “bloody crane’s bill” – a very unattractive name for a very attractive flower.

They are about 20 cm (8 inches) tall and grow in a very wide spread, so they make excellent ground cover.

Geraniums are very hardy and very pretty, too.
Happy Thursday.
I recently saw this lovely peony bush in full bloom.

They are such lush and richly scented flowers; they make me really feel like it’s summer.
Happy Monday.
Lavender grows very well in the Okanagan. The soil and weather conditions are rather great for it, so it’s quite prolific.

Not only does it look and smell wonderful, it’s also thought to be a calming and centring element of aromatherapy. I have a small bottle of lavender oil next to my bed; I don’t think it puts me to sleep but it certainly has a fantastic scent!

Lavender does well as a dried plant and you can also cook with it (depending on the type and it also has to be carefully sifted). Given its varied and many uses, it is an extremely versatile plant and it shines at this time of year!
Happy Sunday.

06.07.2023 Wordless Wednesday- Yellow (?) Stargrass
A gorgeous black and white photo from Stephen Gingold. One of the many beautiful pictures to be found on his blog.
They grow profusely in Alberta but are found in many other spots. So pretty.

Happy Saturday.

Spring colors
Spring colours from Vova Zinger. I love the contrast of the pink and green against the black background.

These white azaleas (also known as white rhododendrons) are almost finished blooming but are still active in micro-locations where it has perhaps been a little cooler or a little more shaded until recently.
I love how extravagantly rich and showy they are; they hold nothing back!
Happy Monday.

I hope your Sunday is as lovely as a flower.
