The wine grapes are reaching their maturity and will soon be ready for picking.

Many grapes populate this field and will soon become lovely bottles of summer memories.
Happy Saturday.

Lake Okanagan at night.

The wind came up and the lake had quite a bit of wave action.
Happy Thursday.

Take a close look at Romeo’s feathers. Those feathers to a eagle are like our teeth when we are young. They go bye bye and a new one grows in. Only …
SUNSET STRETCH
A gorgeous sunset eagle photo from Tofino Photography. Wayne has many stunning photos on his blog!
Right now we have a forest fire nearby and to escape some of the smoke (and the heat of the day), it’s important to get out for a walk as early as possible.
I live in an eclectic neighbourhood of Penticton that’s a mix of single-dwellings, duplexes, higher density apartments and stratas, cafés, restaurants, galleries, parks, breweries, trails and shops. And, not to be forgotten, one of the beaches (a small one that’s chiefly used by locals) is five minutes away. I love walking here and I always see different sights that I pause to enjoy.

Despite the smoke, it was a lovely walk, but I was glad I went early as the smoke intensified later in the day.
I took this very short video of small twin engine passenger plane on final approach into Penticton Airport over Lake Okanagan.
As it came closer, I took another photo as J wanted to capture the reflection of the landing lights on the water. The colours in the photo are more blue than I thought they would be.

It’s not a great photo but I like the reflection on the lake.
Happy Friday and happy landings.
Having the time to watch the sunset is a wonderful thing …

… especially sitting comfortably with a cool drink or a little snack. What a luxury.

We feel very privileged to be here.
Happy Thursday.
We have just returned from Northwest Territories to British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. The drive from the high-altitude Coquihalla Highway (also known as Highway 97C) into the valley is impressive and steep.

The summit of the Coquihalla Connector highway is 1800m (5900 ft) and you then drive down to the valley which is at an elevation of 344 m (1100 ft).

This is a significant drop of 1456 m (4800 ft). Some people aren’t comfortable with driving this highway for that reason, especially in winter. It is a long way down, and you do want to make sure your brakes are working!

The sign in the distance shows that we are about to come down from our lofty perch to join the highway along the lake.
Greetings from the beautiful Okanagan.

Happy Tuesday.
I love lavender (and so do the bees!).

Happy Sunday.
I have been in Northwest Territories for going on two weeks but will be returning to Penticton this upcoming weekend.

Looking forward to it.
Happy Wednesday.
