Usually the wild ones I see are white, but here are some red ones.

It’s Peach Time!
The peaches are arriving on store shelves and at markets everywhere.
They are so luscious, juicy and utterly delicious; such a fantastic summer treat.
We plan to freeze some of these so that we can enjoy a little of this summer goodness later in the year.
I hope your day is peachy keen.
Skaha Lake Beach and Park
Penticton is one of two cities in the world that is situated between two lakes. (The other is Interlaken, Switzerland.) We live in the north end near Okanagan Lake, but we used to live very near the other lake, Skaha, in the south.
A recent walk reminded me of the beauties of the smaller Skaha Lake; there was also some relief from smokey air as we had had some rain the night before.

Summer Sunshine in a Glass
This “orange rosé” has become very popular and is one of our favourite sipping wines. It always makes me feel like summer every time I see it.

Rufous Hummingbird
We have had lots of rufous hummingbirds visiting the hanging flowers on our deck.
They are very difficult to capture and moving quickly with the camera is necessary, but sometimes you can get a decent capture.
Unlike the Anna’s hummingbirds that over-winter in British Columbia, the rufous hummingbirds head to Mexico when it gets cooler. It’s amazing that these tiny birds so successfully make the trip, sometimes multiple times according to the band tracking. They are definitely little toughies.
