Although red might be associated more with autumn, it’s a ubiquitous summer colour, as well. Here’s a selection demonstrating my favourite.

Happy Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday.
Such a lovely shade of blue …

… and a lovely later summer addition to our gardens and fields.

Happy Tuesday.
One of things I love about summer is seeing all the various types of roses, blooming away in splendid profusion. There are so many, many of them, from the elegant to the plain, and all of them very lovely in their own way.

Aren’t they great? I hope your weekend is rosy.
I saw these beautifully round, creamy white hydrangeas.

They looked like giant snowballs or ice cream scoops.

Each blossom contains a multitude of small, three-petaled florets which form flowers-within-a-flower.
Happy Monday.
I particularly like these multihued roses that I recently saw.

The same plant was producing flowers with colours ranging from tangerine to pink to yellow, with most blooms displaying at least two.

Aren’t they pretty?
Happy Sunday.
A red rose bud for your Wednesday.

I hope you have a rosy day.
The old saying, “fresh as a daisy” is rather shopworn, but nevertheless true. I love daisies; they always remind me of happy summer days, contentment and simple pleasures. While I’m a sucker for most any kind of flower, daisies are my all-time favourite.

I found a large billow of them slowly swaying in a nearby park garden.

They definitely put a big smile on my face!

I hope your weekend is as pretty as a daisy.
