We recently have had a lot of rain, very steady and soaking, which is an excellent thing, especially against summer forest fires. I’ve noted that I can usually tell when an intensely rainy spring period is about to arrive.
There’s often a halo around the sun – the arrival of the first gauzy clouds – and the atmosphere is quiet but expectant.
In spite of the impending poor weather, this lead-in is beautiful. The sky and sun are screened by the first delicate wisps of cloud and the air becomes very soft with water vapour.
This good old saying always reminds us to pay attention, to notice and appreciate what’s around us and to slow down a bit so that we can. So here’s what I saw recently while slowing down to just … notice and appreciate.
Community garden flowers. Napping mallards. Blue sky buds. A great view …… and a coffee. 😊
Happy weekend and don’t forget to stop and smell the coffee (or tea).
Beautiful spring photos from Radelnder uHu. In English, the title means “Early Spring Twilight.” Please click the link above to see more of Lutz’s gorgeous landscape photos.
Still, this is in keeping with March’s weather unpredictability and it also won’t hurt to have a good water table when the 38C (100F) temperatures hit!
In spite of varied weather, we have been holding our temperatures over the last while and according to the environmental prognosticators, we are supposed to be in the 20s C (70s F) next week. Could be more whiplash weather so we will have to see!
In any case, the local marmots are out in full force and are looking awake and full of beans …
… a very good sign of more stable weather, at least as far as temperatures are concerned.
I spotted some opening buds …
… that really made my day …
and felt an overall sense of spring’s arrival. Lovely.
