The Deh Cho (Mackenzie) River in NWT is the second longest river in North America after the Mississippi. Its tributaries drain a fifth of Canada and it spans 1700 km to its delta at the Arctic Ocean. The delta itself is so spread out that it appears to be a part of the ocean, even as much as ten km upriver.
