It’s finally a bit cooler …

… with a gentle, fresh breeze from the lake …

… a comfortable vantage point from which to enjoy a long, late summer walk, the smell of autumn in the air.
Happy Wednesday.

With recent showers and the significant rain that fell in late August, Penticton Creek is full and babbling happily along.

After a season of high temperatures, it’s nice to see.
I hope your weekend is babbling along nicely, too.
It’s September, and if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, for many there are mixed emotions involved. Some like the arrival of cooler weather and the beautiful autumn colour changes, while others will soon be missing the summer sun. But in the meantime, a look back at August – a very warm August!

Although I’m sad to see summer coming to a close, I’m happy that I won’t have to be as strategic about choosing a cooler time of day for walks or hikes. As I get older I find that I’m becoming less comfortable with high temperatures. I overheat quickly and take longer to cool off – I’m thinking of walking around with cold packs in my pockets – but that soon won’t be much of an issue. Here, September is a gorgeous month; it’s really the best of both worlds.
I hope your September is enjoyable.

A morning walk is a great thing all by itself …

… but when you also have lovely weather …

… and gorgeous scenery, you can be inspired to walk longer!
Happy Saturday.
We have had a few days of cooler temperatures but are now climbing back up there. But before it became too hot again – we’re expecting low 30s (about 88F) – we spent the day outside in the not-too-hot sun, walking and eating a late lunch.

We had a great day.

From a recent flight over Wapta Lake, British Columbia, which is on the western side of the Rocky Mountains and situated between Banff and Glacier National Parks.

We have hiked Wapta Lake and the Wapta Falls a number of times, but not lately. It’s a very beautiful hike but quite busy in the summer.
Happy Monday.
