This snow-covered mountain top appears to be floating because of the ribbon of mist at the mountain’s midsection.

It’s such a beautiful visual effect.
Happy Thursday.

At first glance it looks like clouds. Interesting perspective!

Yes, it does look that way but it’s a snow-covered mountain top. Agreed; liked how it could be mistaken for a cloud. Cheers.

Even winter’s scenery can be beautiful. The mists and fog banks make photos more interesting. Happy Thursday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. I agree. I was surprised at how much this mountain top seemed to be a cloud. Yes, the low-lying cloud clinging to the sides of the valley makes for some interesting winter scenes. Cheers.

Cool photograph! Michaela caught a similar image of Mount Tiede a few years ago. Just like yours, it takes a few seconds to work out exactly what’s in the photo.

Beautiful effect and beautiful capture. Love the different shades of blue and grey from the water, mountains and sky as well.

Thank you very much, Linda. That is our colour palette right now. It can be quite beautiful although today we have cloud almost right down to the valley floor!

Looks like one of those days when anyone up on the mountain might not be able to see much of the lake! Very pretty.

Agreed; certainly those at the mountain’s midpoint might have some trouble and depending on how thick that cloud band was, maybe those on top, too. When we feel the need to escape the valley’s overcast, we often go to one of the ski resorts for lunch. Lots of sun but no views through the cloud into the valley.
