A major snowstorm struck to the north of us but since we were on the periphery of it we were the recipients of a lesser amount of the white stuff. Until it turned to rain later in the day, it was beginning to collect.

By late afternoon the snow at our lower elevation in the valley was gone, having been replaced by rain …

… and the weather cleared enough to give us a glimpse of a clear sky and sun.
Happy Monday.
Glad to hear you managed to avoid the worst of the snowstorm. The snow sure looks pretty though. Most of our snow has melted, but the trails are still a bit too icy for us to go for a hike (we tried on Saturday, but turned around after a few minutes).

We had a lovely covering that disappeared by late afternoon and today the weather is pretty good for February! Our trails in the valley are fine but adding any elevation brings ice and snow, so we’re staying down here for now. I hope yours clear up soon. Cheers.

We call this spring on the installment plan. Glad the nasty weather was not too close. Happy Monday Lynette. Allan

Hahaha. 😊 That description is right! The snow really didn’t last long at our elevation and we’re staying out of the mountains for now. Our trails are getting wet but at least not icy. Cheers.

We’re supposed to have more rain by week’s end. The ground is so saturated already , trees are upending.

Oh Jacqui, that’s awful. Droughts followed by floods seem to be commonplace lately. I hope you get better weather soon.

I keep wondering if/when we’ll get some snow. It looks like the day ended happily for you 😊

It did and we have such a gorgeous day today. It sure has been up and down but not unusual for this time of year, unlike some of the other weather we’ve had. Maybe you will skip the snow? 😊

Glad it wasn’t too bad where you are.

We were just on the edge of it. Kelowna isn’t far away and since it was a bit colder it got 10cm. I was happy to see the rain come along and melt it!

I love the cloud formations here and how they hang on the valley sides. Cheers.

I love those clouds, Lynette. Such beautiful sights where you live! We’ve had warm weather lately, but I just checked and we’re supposed to get 6 inches of snow tomorrow – that’s better than the torrential rain we’ve gotten.

Thank you very much, Barbara. 😊 The cloud formations here in the valley are quite beautiful. I do enjoy watching them.
The weather has been so strange and unpredictable this winter, at least in the northern hemisphere. As commenter Allan noted, it’s spring on the installment plan. Very apt!

Oh I like that phrase! Here the groundhog predicted an early spring, but we’ve had more snow than usual and another storm is in the works for tonight and tomorrow!

Isn’t that great? Here it was much too foggy for a groundhog (or anyone, for that matter) to see his shadow – or even his feet – so I’m going with the early spring scenario. 😉 We have definitely been up and down, though.
