We were above 0C and wildly melting, but Snow and Wind happened.

It’s not supposed to last though, and Melt will return!
Happy Sunday.

Quite unusual, snow, in the month of April!!

I work in the subarctic, so I’m very, very far north (62° N latitude). At this latitude, snow in April isn’t unusual. Cheers, Deeksha. 🙂

Is that so! So when will summer season start and how much maximum temperature you get during those sunny days?

Because we’re so far north, there’s only about four hours of twilight (it doesn’t really get dark) in June. The rest of the time is bright daylight, so it gets rather warm (25-30C) with the sun shining most of the time. Makes up for December when the reverse is true! Cheers.

25-30C is quite warm to cover up cold months. Have nice weekdays ahead Lynette☺

In our part of Canada snow in April or May is very usual. There is always a major snowstorm somewhere in Alberta on the May long weekend. But, as my wife would say “Its sooooo beauooootiful. Happy Sunday Lynette. Allan

So true, Allan. I remember the variations from my years living in Alberta. The May long was never reliable – sometimes beautiful, sometimes cold with snow or freezing rain!

That looks like quite the snowfall!! At least the sun is out!

We didn’t get as much snow as predicted (as much as 25 cm) but the wind was nasty. The temperature is supposed go up again at the end of the week, so that’s good!

Beautiful shot! Love the colors and contrasts.

Thank you very much. I would like it better if the contrast didn’t involve snow … 😉

That sounds like the kind of wet snow and wind that breaks branches.

It was actually those tiny dry snow particles, so it didn’t carry much weight. The wind was nasty though, so I’m sure there’s damage.

At least that’s something, having dry snow. Our wind was cold here too today. Awful.

My M is in Penticton, and the wind there was also very cold and strong. Aviation weather indicated that it was a huge (and nasty) system.

Today again, it’s a very cold wind. They had snow in Parksville (near Nanaimo) yesterday. It melted again but it was that cold.

I’m familiar with Nanaimo because my son lived there for a long time. Usually it’s quite nice at this time of year. My M said that Penticton had another cold wind again today with some rain for good measure. Ugh.

We had an awful day here in Comox but in the late afternoon it got nice (the wind went down) and I felt hopeful about spring again.

I guess it’s going to be one of those years when it just flips back and forth, over and over. Sigh.

We actually had snow in southern England in the first week of April, which upset the plants just coming out but was nothing like this of course. Hope spring finds you soon.

Yes, the subarctic has a whole different notion of spring storm! This is supposed to disappear within the next week, thankfully. Cheers.

Snow this evening in the mountains of Vermont, although it was sleet and rain as I drove home up the river valley. And it will be gone tomorrow, as temps all week are supposed to be in the 60s F. (High teens C.)

I always have slightly elevated concerns about driving at this time of year (not good for airplanes, either). Our snowy and icy leftovers will hang around for a while still, though. High 60sF sounds nice. Safe travels.

We sometimes get snow here in April, but it doesn’t look as pretty as yours.

The subarctic does winter really well (as would be expected)! 🙂
