Aircraft marshalling is a very important job, but it can be a very difficult one, especially in bitterly cold (or brutally hot) weather.
Here’s to all the aircraft marshallers who help to keep pilots and their passengers safe.
Happy Tuesday. 🙂

I’m getting cold just by looking at the aircraft marshall all bundled up in the snow. Now that’s a tough job.

It’s usually so windy out there and that just makes it so much colder! They do wear proper clothes, but it’s still a demanding job in difficult conditions.

Yup, not a job for the faint of heart in NWT (or even Edmonton). Stay well Lynette. Allan

Definitely not. I remember them on the apron at Edmonton Muni (I’ve just dated myself there!) in the wind and snow. It was cold.

These are things most of us don’t even think about, and yet it’s very important.

Yes, so many who do wonderful things and they are unnoticed or unheard of.

Yes, hurray for all the people doing slog-jobs in difficult weather, keeping us safe. Here in BC, literally 24/7 labour has managed to sufficiently repair and patch the Coquehalla Hwy that it can again bear some traffic. That was heroic, it truly was.

Yes, I read about that! Truly amazing and such difficult work with so many depending on it! I agree – heroic is the word for it.

It was refreshing to see the Min. of Transport (or whatever the title is), posing for his photo-opp,, and offering unhackneyed praise for the hard-sloggers of the world…

Finally! They find it so hard not to make political hay every time they open their mouths …

he focused on what all those ‘ordinary’ workers had achieved and were still slogging away to achieve, and did almost no grandstanding — admirable, but sad to think how rare this is!

Good to hear! I agree that it’s very unfortunate for us to be remarking on the rarity of this.
