A lone, late pond lily recently made a lovely appearance.

The leaves are fading but the plant produced a final beautiful flower before it drifts off into its winter rest …

Happy Friday.

Pretty pond lilies …

… in creamy yellow and pink …

… another of summer’s lovely gifts.

Happy Friday.
Some of the pond lilies have started blooming.

Also known as water lilies, they flower intermittently from about the end of June until the beginning of September.

There are yellow varieties, too …

… but no pictures of them yet!
Happy Monday.
Cathy at Words and Herbs is encouraging people to post flower photos for a week to help chase away the winter doldrums.

If you would like to contribute your own flower photos, please do!
Happy flower week.

And a closer view …

Happy flowers week.

Stunning water lily photos from Stephen Hung. I hope you stop by his blog to see how gorgeous his photography is.
I found this stargazer lily happily growing in July.

The scent was heady, amplified by the heat of the day.
Happy Friday lily flower.
It isn’t summer yet, but given the high temperatures we’ve been having, everything is growing and blooming.

Given how unusual this is, it does give me pause. How frequently and for how long will we start experiencing these high numbers? Food for thought.

In any event, I hope you’re enjoying your Friday lily pad. 🙂
