NOTE: This post contains slideshows and if you are reading it on your phone, it may be best viewed direct from the SITE, rather than in the READER. The world is kind of a hard scrabble free-for-all right now, as greed and the lust for power seem to be clouding the judgement of many, often […]
Help Clear the Way — PhotoBlography3
My blog-friend Allan, who lives just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, makes some very simple, but very effective points in his photo-post, “Help Clear the Way.” Please click on the link to read the full piece.
The Okanagan Valley is quite famous for wine grapes, but for many years before that it was well-known for its fruits and vegetables, especially its tree fruits.
I am not usually a big lover of fruit, but there’s nothing quite like a fresh peach, warm from the sun, gently sweet and juicy, slightly tangy but not acidic. And that heavenly peachy perfume! Such a treat!

So as I sit on the equivalent of a massive glacier, I can always dream sweet summer memories of peaches. Mummm, I can almost taste one.
Do you have a favourite fruit?
Happy mid-week. 🍑

This fabulous photo …

… was captured by Santiago Borja and published by National Geographic.
It is a gigantic cumulonimbus cloud (the kind that pilots are ever vigilant to avoid, especially during summer) over the Pacific Ocean; the photo was taken from about 37,000 ft.
The photographer captured this shot during one of the lightening flashes emanating from the cloud.
As a pilot, I have taken what I consider to be rather interesting pictures from aloft, but I have nothing even approaching this.
