        1. I live in the city of Penticton which is in the interior of British Columbia at 49.5 N latitude. Vancouver is 49.2 N latitude but we are four highway hours to the east of it in the Okanagan Valley. Vancouver’s climate is very, very temperate all year. Palm trees actually grow there. 😊

          This valley and surrounding region has the only semi-arid desert climate in the country which accounts for our mild winters and very high summer temperatures – the low to mid 40s aren’t uncommon. That’s why wine grapes and orchards of all kinds do well here.

          Yes, your climate is very susceptible to thunderstorms and tornadoes. I hope you have a quiet spring this year.
