It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Spring

We had 18C (65F) and lovely sun and many people were out enjoying it by walking their dogs, strolling on the beaches or sitting outside with a coffee, beer or wine.

The buds are bursting …

… the sap is flowing …

… the marmots are happily soaking up the sun …

… and enjoying some time outside …

… while a gentle spring sun …

… tells us that the season is turning our way.

Happy Wednesday.

    1. It sure is. Spring is probably my favourite season. I used to live in a very northern part of Canada (Northwest Territories) and usually I saw a turnaround in temperatures starting at about mid-March. I hope your +2 is a good sign for you. Cheers.

  1. Beautiful spring looks Lynette. I think a better indication of spring is the marmots in your area, rather than groundhogs in Feb. If the marmots are all out, spring is here. We managed +15 here yesterday after a night of freezing rain. More rain coming, but cooler temps. Happy Wednesday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. It’s been great over the last few days and today it’s 20. So great! I agree about the marmots. When they’re all out, spring is really here. They were very much enjoying their time outside, especially sunning themselves. Freezing rain followed by 15? That’s a head turner but not unexpected for March, I think. We’re supposed to also cool to 11-12 for the weekend. Cheers.

    1. Thanks, Jenn. Wow – you probably have lots of water right now! I hope it mostly goes into your water table so that you’re protected from fires this year. It’s so great when we hit that point where the weather just turns and even though there might be the occasional bad weather day going forward, you know it’s not going to last. Cheers.

      1. High water tables is my hope as well. The lake is high, the ground is saturated so things are looking good. We will have to wait until the summer to know for sure. In the meantime I know I will enjoy the spring.

        1. Yes, it’s only during summer that you will really be able to tell if all that water has stuck around. There’s concern here that a lot of the rain we got during the winter ran off instead of soaking in. We’ll see what happens!

  2. I’m not sure how I missed this earlier. It looks like you are truly enjoying spring weather! We had a few days of spring and are now back to mostly winter weather. At least the snow seems to be gone.

    1. No worries; that happens to me, too. Yes, definitely! 😊 We’re actually supposed to slip back by the weekend to about 12C (54F) though but then again, March can be so unpredictable. Spring will get here, it’s just that there might be some to-ing and fro-ing, unfortunately!
