  7. As long as the rain comes in the spring, summer will be more bearable. At least your time changes are stopping. Too bad, they chose DST instead of standard. I wonder how Danielle will respond, maybe with a Newfie half hour change, just to be different. If she goes DST, our sunrises in December will not come until 9:45. Cheers Lynette. Allan

    1. There was a plebiscite in 2019 that was heavily criticised at the time for not having standard time as a choice. It’s the results of that plebiscite that Eby is using to justify nailing down the time. He’s taking a lot of flack over how kids (and most adults, too) will have to go to school in the dark and of course every study out there shows how unhealthy DST is. A 9:45 sunrise is crazy. You may as well be in Yellowknife. I think the brilliant Ms Smith will divide the province horizontally at Swan Hills with a half-hour time change on each side. 😉

      1. Why do Governments ignore reason and medical evidence on the whole time change thing? I am blasting DS regularly both with shared news articles and very pointed E-mails on every one of her issteps. I am sure all of these end up in her circular file. She never consults with experts, preferring to be the authority on everything as long as she can blame someone if it all goes wrong. I am preparing to start the battle now to recover all or part of the knee replacement costs. Will see how that goes. Cheers. Allan

        1. Governments are always “other directed” by political careers, re-elections or getting into cabinet; whatever it is, it’s often not about what’s in the best interests of their constituents. The big argument I always heard for permanent DST was how the Americans were going to switch to it; not something we should now be concerned about and certainly not in our interests.

          Smith doesn’t care at all about Alberta, just so long as she gets to be premier, governor, president, whatever. Agreed, your communications are going into her circular file because you’re making points that don’t fit into her power view.

          Good for you, Allan. You are entitled to getting a total refund for this but unfortunately you’re probably going to have to push and push and maybe think about going to the media, too. Good luck with this.

    1. Vancouver Island is always really early but then again they have such a mild winter it’s really just an extended autumn. A couple of years back when we visited southern Ontario in May we really saw the evidence of April showers. It was beautiful!
