It started raining and then turned to a very thick, watery snow that began to settle in some places. Here at the valley bottom, it was our first snowfall of the season.

The rainy snow was so dense that the visibility across the lake was quite low.

Since our temperatures have been around 4C (39F), it won’t last, though.

The ducks certainly didn’t mind; their favourite little pond was ice-free!

As I continued my ramble, the snowy rain became more rain-like; it had been a bit of an incongruity since some of the trees are beginning to bud as you can in the picture above.

By the time I arrived back at home, it was back to just plain rain.
Happy Tuesday.
Nice! There might be a bit of gray and snow still hanging on but there’s also a hint of brightness and warmth. Spring is on its way. 😉

This was our first snowfall – it only lasted a few hours – and is gone again now. Still pretty grey but the sun is trying to push through which is great. Cheers.

Snow rain and plain rain combined — an interesting day!

We don’t get much snow here and when we do, it usually comes down as a watery mix that often changes back to rain. Cheers.

I think we may be heading for the same kind weather in the next few days.

Or maybe it already has missed you? That would be great!

It would be great, but not according to the weatherman. Cold days ahead for at least four or five days. But I’m looking beyond that and am feeling hopeful.

Our weather is showing temperature drops as well to 1 and 2 for daytime and below freezing overnight for the next couple of days. They’re supposed to come up again by Sunday. Agreed, looking beyond is probably best.

Looks like a spring refresher Lynette. Moisture is always good, except when it comes in the form of a blizzard like we got last night. Cheers. Allan

Agreed, Allan. I read a piece saying that the Okanagan hasn’t gotten enough rain yet this winter and I really am questioning that. We have had a lot of rain since September (or maybe I don’t understand how much rain we really need!). Sorry to hear you got whacked by another blizzard. Not sure why but I’m getting the sense that spring’s arrival may be cooler and/or slower this year.

We saw a few trees budding in Kananaskis this weekend, but today’s storm will kill them I’m sure. This will make you giggle. Spell check just changed Kananaskis to Bananas Kissing!!! 🤣🤣

Hahaha. 😊 I love that one! So sorry to hear that the trees are beginning to bud – ouch. I know that your temperatures have been above zero for a while and now this. Ugh.

Your photos are beautiful, Lynette. The ducks seem perfectly content though.

Thank you, Tricia. 😊 The ducks swim peacefully on through this weather. They only become perturbed when they can’t get in the water because of ice.

A pretty photo of the duck pond! I’m glad the snow turned to rain. Given the amount of snow we’ve had it was unusual to read that it was your area’s very first snow 😏

Thank you very much, Belinda. 😊 I know that sounds wild especially for this country! The prairies and central Canada are getting hammered with another storm though, I understand. Ugh.
