Springy

It’s beginning to be a little springy …

… with green fronds pushing through the dry leaves from last year …

… and the cherry tree buds making themselves known …

… including a close-up …

… while the sun begins to warm the earth.

Happy Friday 13th. 🍀

    1. It is but then I looked back at last year and saw that I had photos of the budding cherry trees only slightly later, just a week. Central Canada has certainly taken a snowy, cold and stormy walloping this year – I wish you a sunny and warm weather turnaround, Linda.

  1. So nice to see the first stirrings of spring Lynette, even if they are a ways away here. Although, I have spotted some pussy willows and a few leaves opening too early. Our highs of -13 next week will nip that in the bud, I am sure. Happy Friday. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. They literally will be nipped in the bud, unfortunately. I remember that happening when I lived in Medicine Hat. A chinook would come through in February or March, raise the temperatures to +12 for several days and plants and shrubs would start to bud. Then temperatures would fall again. You have to be a tough plant to get through that! Sorry to hear that you’re looking at -13 again. Ugh. Our sunshine break is over and we’re back to overcast and rain, but it’s not cold at least.
