… fortunately punctuated by a bit of this …
… with shards of orangey-gold still to be found here and there …
… or even the gift of a little rosy red …
… and a dash of leafy medley …
… before time and wind sweep them all away.

Yes, I am, too. We’re headed for the shortest day of the year and by 4:30 now, it’s completely, fully dark because of the mountains on either side and the overcast. Definitely a mixed week.

Thanks, Allan. We’re very grey and raining and +9, so the colour isn’t very diverse here either but there’s some if you look. Be cautious on that ice!

These roses are growing in a corner between two buildings next to a footpath that I frequently walk. Right now there are another five buds! They’re in a very protected spot and I’ve noticed that they will continue to bloom (in a limited way) until January. They’re so hardy and lovely to see when everything else is pretty much gone and it’s so grey and rainy. We are very socked in today!

I just returned from a walk and it was like being in the shower. Rain coming straight down and we’re supposed to have that for the next three or four days. I might start growing moss. 😉 Glad you’re through it. Gives me hope. 😉

Thank you very much. I like that too. 😊 We are monotone also but it’s grey overcast right down to the valley floor with a side of rain. No snow though and yes, we at least have some colour to be found here and there! Cheers.

I’m in the Okanagan Valley in the interior of B.C. about three hours away from the coast by car, but we still get lots of coastal weather. I agree totally; the beauty I love needs rain! Thanks for commenting.

Probably just on the edge of the atmospheric river so I guess be glad of the the breaks in the clouds.

We actually got the overflow from the river as we were directly in its path and it hit us pretty hard on Tuesday and Wednesday. I’m glad it had to climb a mountain range before it reached us – that would have forced more of the moisture out as snow. No flooding here thankfully but a lot of people in the lower mainland have lost stock, winter vegetable crops and homes or infrastructure. It’s been brutal for them.

Still some colour and beauty to be found in the dark and gloominess. There’s not much colour here as everything is covered in snow. But at least it looks pretty.

My search for a bit of colour is definitely narrowing! The overcast is causing darkness to arrive as early as 3:30 so I’m getting into photographing the blue hour. I think we probably have to focus more on seasonal lights and traditions right now for some colour. Cheers.
