Always take time to stop and smell the roses…

I couldn’t agree more, Jude, and I finally have the time to really take that comment to heart.

A beautiful start to the day Lynette. I wish I could grow roses in my yard, nut have to be satisfied seeing the wild roses on my walks. Happy Wednesday. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan. When I lived in Medicine Hat I had a neighbour who grew many of them but it was a lot of work, especially protecting them through the winter and also against the chinooks. It was a big hobby for her and she loved it. Eventually she had to give them up though when she grew too old to manage them. It can be done but it’s a challenge. I agree that it’s probably better – for me anyway – to enjoy the wild roses that grow so beautifully. Cheers.

I haven’t met a rose yet that I don’t like.

I haven’t either, Anneli. My mom loved roses and was so great at growing them, too; they remind me of her.

Beauty, depth and colour. Makes me want to plant some roses in my garden.

They really are so gorgeous and so many types, too. These are tea roses and much hardier and require less maintenance than many rose varieties. My mother had many garden roses and spent a lot of time on them especially protecting them from winter winds which she always said could cause the most damage.

They are really lovely and yes, healthy. We have had good conditions for them. Cheers. 😊

I tried having a rose garden, but I couldn’t keep them healthy using organic gardening techniques. C’est la vie.

Roses can be very difficult. My mother was very talented with them (and gardening in general) but she also put in enormous amounts of time.
