    1. Thank you very much, Allan. When I lived in Medicine Hat I had a neighbour who grew many of them but it was a lot of work, especially protecting them through the winter and also against the chinooks. It was a big hobby for her and she loved it. Eventually she had to give them up though when she grew too old to manage them. It can be done but it’s a challenge. I agree that it’s probably better – for me anyway – to enjoy the wild roses that grow so beautifully. Cheers.

    1. They really are so gorgeous and so many types, too. These are tea roses and much hardier and require less maintenance than many rose varieties. My mother had many garden roses and spent a lot of time on them especially protecting them from winter winds which she always said could cause the most damage.
