A Brief Sunny Break …

… resulted in a couple of bright photos …

… that highlight some slowly arriving springy weather …

… and comfortable windless walking …

… but then the mountain cloud with its misty and drizzly tendencies returned.

Happy Thursday.

    1. Hi Liz, yes it was bright but suddenly the clouds began moving in which is shown in the last photo. It was very overcast by the time I arrived home though. Good to hear that you’re getting some lovely days. Cheers.

  1. You have a great place to watch the weather change Lynette. Nice to see spring rains. It rained here all last night, washing away a lot of the old snow. Today there will be 8cm of new snow to replace it. A lot less than predicted. Happy Thursday. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. I do have great spots for weather watching and it’s certainly been changeable although not as much as yours. If you have to have snow again, not as much is a good thing! La Niña is giving us a slow moving spring whether we like it or not.

    1. It is a beautiful location. I’ve travelled all over the world and have also lived in Europe and the U.S. but I find this area to be one of the most beautiful I’ve seen (I’ll admit that I’m biased, though 😊). Yes, lots of recreation from cliff diving and rock climbing to fishing for lake trout and kokanee salmon. Cheers.

  2. The first photo of the tree is so lovely. I do like winter trees, shows off their shape so beautifully. Can you walk all around the lake? It looks like a rather big one!

    1. Thank you very much, Jude. That tree is now budding but that’s not very visible in this photo.

You can walk around but it would take a while! It’s 135 km long and between 4 and 5 km wide. Known as fjord lake, it was carved by repeated glacial action. Penticton – where I live – is at the southern end of it and sits on the site of a huge, ancient landslide that bisected Okanagan Lake and created Skaha Lake on Penticton’s southern border; Penticton is therefore sandwiched between two lakes. Skaha is 11 km long and 2 km wide. Cheers.
