Vancouver is ahead of us for sure, so yes, I bet you’re going to really enjoy your visit. Today we were in the Similkameen Valley to the south of us and everything was at least a couple of weeks ahead of us. It’s warmer there (blazing hot in summer) and it definitely shows. Cheers.
I love azaleas! They are short-lived, but so pretty. There’s a garden somewhere outside of Washington DC that has a wonderful bunch of azaleas – I visited there once many years ago.
Yes, there is. I think it’s your National Arboretum. I visited it a long time ago and as I recall it’s gorgeous. Lots of azaleas. They definitely have to be enjoyed while they’re here!
A good reminder to get out and see our wild ones here in California – they are deciduous and have a strong, wonderful sweet perfume. I miss the wild ones in Georgia – ‘flame azalaleas’ and orange!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen orange azaleas. I would like to see those wild azalea flowers and smell them, too. Sounds beautiful, Grey. Maybe some time in the future – I haven’t visited California in a few years. Cheers.
What a gorgeous color!

So gorgeous Lynette. We are enjoying all the flowers in Vancouver right now. So nice to get away from the drab. Happy Friday. Allan

That sounds right – now I remember! We have 3 azaleas in our yard but they haven’t bloomed yet. They’re a little crowded out but still pretty!

To me, flowers look best when there are masses of them. And that’s what you get on azalea bushes.

I agree, Neil. Masses of flowers are so beautiful and yes, azaleas sure grow that way.

Short-lived, yes, but they sure get us perked up and ready for more.

They lift the spirits, that’s for sure! Next, the rhododendrons will be coming out!
