Flowers, Flowers Everywhere!

These beautiful pink azaleas are about to burst!

One or two more days and they will be out …

… their pretty frilliness on display for everyone to enjoy.

The rhododendrons aren’t far behind …

… but these lovely blue periwinkles are already here.

Happy Tuesday. 💐

  1. Spring is springing. So nice to see the flowers (especially azaleas) coming. I managed to get my lawn raked yesterday, so now all we need is rain to bring on the dandelions. Have a great Tuesday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. It sure is. We have our deck doors open today since the weather is so good.
Oh yes – I forgot about the dandelion season! You need some marmots; they love eating the heads especially but will consume the entire plant including the roots. Unfortunately they might make holes in your lawn. 😉

          1. We used to have a much more balanced summer with a few sunny days and then a couple of rainy days, and that pattern would repeat. It made it hard to plan a picnic but at least we weren’t banned from the parks for fear of fire.

    1. I don’t know a lot about azaleas but they tend to dry out easily and also need acidic soil, so you could check the soil around the bush and adjust it if needed.

When I lived in Alberta I had one (inside – azaleas would never survive Alberta’s winters) that grew from a tiny plant into a six foot bush. It was in a special south-facing spot and bloomed beautifully every spring. I changed the soil once a year (a big job) and, guided by a knowledgeable friend, checked the ph at that time. I gave the bush to her when we moved and it’s still growing – it’s 20 years old now. I hope yours comes around and does well.
