We’re having a rainy weekend. It’s a very slow, soaking rain that’s excellent for our officially still-dry conditions – thankfully this area was removed from the drought list in January – so I’m definitely not going to complain about it, especially as the temperature is still relatively warm.

I’ll be happy to see the return of some sun, though …

… which is supposed to occur by Monday.
Happy Sunday.
Very overcast and un-Algarve like here at the moment, Lynette, and promise of a wet week. An opportunity to sing in the rain!

A good spring rain gives us lots of flowers and leaves later. Yes, and an opportunity to sing in the rain! 😊

I love both these photos. One showing the ripples on the water and the other being the opposite showing calm.

Thank you very much, Liz, I’m glad you like them. 😊 The first one was taken in our rainy Japanese garden and the other one last week on the sunny lake beach. Cheers.

I didn’t realise one was from your Japanese garden.

Yes, I walk through there regularly. The shallow koi pond (with huge resident fish) is a big attraction. Everyone likes to check out how they are doing.

I love the Japanese garden which was why I was surprised I didn’t recognise it this time, to say I have seen it before.

I think most of my recent pictures of it have been taken in the sun, and of course it’s changing rapidly right now with all the plants beginning to bud, so that’s probably why you didn’t recognise it. Cheers.

A rainy day is a good time to stay inside and read a good book. Happy Sunday Lynette!

Thank you very much, Tricia. 😊 I agree. We actually did some of that yesterday. Cheers.

Nothing beats a prolonged soaking rain. We have had 4 days of snow flurries and I fear most of the moisture will simply run off as the ground is still frozen. Hopefully it will fill some ponds. Our sun returns Wednesday, maybe. The poor geese seem so lost right now. Thanks for reading. Happy Sunday. Allan

Thanks, Allan. We definitely got that, Allan. I was so pleased to see it. I had forgotten that you’re still frozen and your snow melt won’t soak in. Agreed – hopefully it fills ponds. Yes, any returning water fowl aren’t getting great conditions. We still have our massive coot flock; they haven’t dispersed yet. Maybe they sense that their more northern nesting sites aren’t ready yet!

Rain is good, especially if it’s followed by sunshine.

The sun is starting to break through now so it should be lovely this afternoon. Agreed, a good soaking followed by sun is a good thing!

The last week has been snowy and cold, but today the sun is shining and it’s warming up. I can’t complain too much as it’s been such a mild winter. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Linda

Thanks, Linda. Yes, your area seems to be getting some late winter weather. We seem to be heading nicely into spring but will still need regular rain. Our area is doing relatively well considering that there’s a lot of concern about the situation in northern BC where more snow was needed to put out the “zombie” fires that are still burning underground from last summer. Everyone is hoping for more rain, especially for the north.

I agree, Belinda; I t’s very photogenic even during the equivalent of a bad hair day. We’re very happy to get this nice slow rain and it was followed by the most glorious spring day today.

Your weekend rain traveled our way today and tomorrow. Like you, I don’t mind it so much as long as the sun comes back soon.

Agreed. Days and days of overcast and rain is rather dreary, although I understand that we still need regular rain in this area because of last year’s drought. We had a beautifully sunny morning but it has since clouded over and we are supposed to get some more showers. Because we’re getting close to April, I’m reminded of this little rhyme: April showers bring May flowers. 🌸 Cheers.

Rain is a romantic fall for lovers and a painful fall for sad people. Rain by all means good.

Yes, that can be very true. In this case the rain is a good thing since we are still coming out of last summer’s drought. Cheers. 😊
