Spring You Say?

Yes, cautious agreement. There are some subtle signs of spring beginning to happen. The angle of the sun, bird behaviour, wind direction and temperature are all conspiring to create a springy sort of feeling here.

We might actually be leaving winter behind!

We have reached steady double digits – 10°C or more (50F) – and the sun really feels warm.

Doesn’t this look like early spring?

The rhododendrons are greening up by the day and really nudging the sense that we’re getting closer to spring and further from winter.

Of course, there will be lots more rain. We’re supposed to get some tomorrow, and given where we’ve lately been with the drought monster, some coolish rain isn’t a bad thing.

Happy Saturday.

  1. Enjoy your green up Lynette. Still a ways away here. With temps of +10 here for the last couple of days, our snow is again gone. But, not to worry. We are supposed to get between 5 and 20 cm tomorrow and Monday. Yay???? But, we do need the moisture. Have a great weekend. Allan

    1. Thank you very much, Allan.
We’re going to cool off some as well but the lowest is supposed to be around +3 and only for a day or two. Sorry to hear about your snow but I agree, it’s really needed, unfortunately. The more you get, the better, I’m thinking.

    1. Definitely – the weather has been so up and down but then again, it’s still February. For BC it’s better if spring is slow since that will help to mitigate the forest fires in the drought-stricken areas to the north. There are fires still smouldering from last autumn. Ugh.

    1. Thunderstorm and hail? Wow! On Sunday we had 15c, yesterday 12 and today, 2. Now we have a wet snow falling. When I went out walking this afternoon, it felt cold and I found icicles in places around the lake shore! But I guess that’s February. Enjoy your warm days as there might be more cold ones, unfortunately.
