Yes, cautious agreement. There are some subtle signs of spring beginning to happen. The angle of the sun, bird behaviour, wind direction and temperature are all conspiring to create a springy sort of feeling here.

We have reached steady double digits – 10°C or more (50F) – and the sun really feels warm.

The rhododendrons are greening up by the day and really nudging the sense that we’re getting closer to spring and further from winter.
Of course, there will be lots more rain. We’re supposed to get some tomorrow, and given where we’ve lately been with the drought monster, some coolish rain isn’t a bad thing.
Happy Saturday.
Here…not yet. 😉 Happy weekend!

Thank you very much. Not quite here, either. 🙂

Yes, spring is coming! We noticed cherry blossoms a few days ago in our local village. Enjoy the weekend!

Thank you. 🙂
How great! Ours are starting now too, but not out yet. I need to do a ramble for some photos.

Enjoy your green up Lynette. Still a ways away here. With temps of +10 here for the last couple of days, our snow is again gone. But, not to worry. We are supposed to get between 5 and 20 cm tomorrow and Monday. Yay???? But, we do need the moisture. Have a great weekend. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan.
We’re going to cool off some as well but the lowest is supposed to be around +3 and only for a day or two. Sorry to hear about your snow but I agree, it’s really needed, unfortunately. The more you get, the better, I’m thinking.

Lovely to see your pictures, Lynette. I was starting to think Spring was on the way but we had snow again last night, so back to winter here in Chicago. Have a great weekend.

Thank you very much, Sue. The weather has been very up and down in so many areas it seems, but it is still February. Winter hanging on, of course.

I know we’re tired of rain, but soon we’ll be wishing it would rain again to save our parched grass and shrubs.

So true, Anneli. I’m not really complaining about the rain and it’s actually better if our spring arrival is a bit slow – keeps the forest fire risk down.

You’re so right. It’s me who has been complaining about too much rain, but I’d rather have that than too little.

I think I’m coming across as a bit whiny about the weather, but really, rain beats snow any time! And agreed, far better that we have too much than too little.

No, not whiny at all. This is normal for us at this time of year when we all have had enough of winter.

It’s always great to see those early signs of spring.! We woke up to windchills in the -20s this morning, +13 forecast for Tuesday. Wild weather 😏

Definitely – the weather has been so up and down but then again, it’s still February. For BC it’s better if spring is slow since that will help to mitigate the forest fires in the drought-stricken areas to the north. There are fires still smouldering from last autumn. Ugh.

I had no idea that was the case. I wish the province a gradual spring.

Thanks, Belinda. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a slow one or at least for a damp one.

Not here.. not yet😀 Although as you said.. the little buds are popping out, and some birds occasionally..

We’re getting some minor signs but given that this area is in drought recovery from last year, it’s better that spring takes its time even though I would love to have it bursting forward already!

Spring is definitely on the way, Lynette! My bulbs are coming up- yay!

Yes, I saw a few just starting to poke through when I was out walking today. Spring bulbs are beautiful. 😊

I agree – I planted some crocuses – hoping they’ll stay around a bit before the bunnies get them 😉

Good luck with the bunny nibblers. 😊

It’s definitely looking and feeling like spring these days here too. It reached a high of 14C today and we even had a severe thunderstorm with hail. That’s a first for February.

Thunderstorm and hail? Wow! On Sunday we had 15c, yesterday 12 and today, 2. Now we have a wet snow falling. When I went out walking this afternoon, it felt cold and I found icicles in places around the lake shore! But I guess that’s February. Enjoy your warm days as there might be more cold ones, unfortunately.
