A Lovely Spring Day

There was no wind, which gave us a mirror-like, beautiful flat calm …

… while the soft, warming air gently dozed in the sun.

The azealas were invited to open their pretty blooms …

… and the hungry, busy robins began getting ready for some young ones.

Leaves were unfurling …

… and puffy clouds relaxing.

Isn’t spring grand?

Happy Friday.

  1. It makes a big difference in the temperature whether the wind blows or not. We’ve had a lot of windy days and even if the clouds disappear, it’s still cold. But there are little signs of spring that keep our hopes up.

    1. We’ve had lots of wind too, especially since autumn. Not just regular speeds, either. Much of it has been gusting to 80 or 90 k. Agreed, the wind usually cools everything. Glad to hear that you’re getting some spring signs.

        1. Yes, it is and we feel fortunate to live here. Although this valley is reasonably well known among wine drinkers, it’s otherwise a bit of a hidden gem. Canadians are familiar and we get lots of tourists from other parts of the country, but it’s relatively unknown internationally.

  2. I saw your comment about narcissism on another blog (wrookieSchu) and I saw the word “Trump”, a man I despise. I totally agreed with what you said about him, so I navigated to your blog and looked at your about information and viewed a few of your last posts. You certainly do have an eye for photography. They are beautiful. Take care.

    1. Thank you very much for stopping by, Michael, and for your lovely comments. Appreciated! As you saw, I used to write about narcissism, having experienced one as a marriage “partner.” Because of that I recognise Trump’s behaviour very well and unfortunately much of the U.S. now has to figure out narcissism too.

  3. You indeed had a lovely day Lynette. So nice to see the spring winds drop for a bit and to see the azaleas and robins. No robins here yet, but there are soooooooooooooooo many crows, they are driving us crazy already. Have a great Friday. Allan

    1. We have been getting a lot of wind since last October, especially winds with gusts up to 80 or 90 K or so. Apparently the passes/highways have been dangerous at times because of them. Here’s a recent piece: https://globalnews.ca/news/11728589/hurricane-strength-winds-knocked-semi-trucks-coquihalla-highway/

I figure those azaleas are going to be out very soon and the first batch of baby robins will soon be hopping about (if they don’t blow away). 😉

      1. So glad to not have to travel that route again for the foreseeable future. Spring’s approach has slowed here after several warm days. We have had some snow and expect more, but my lawn will appreciate it and we are not venturing out much these days anyway. Cheers.

    1. It was really about as nice a spring day as you could have. So lovely. There is a garden near here that has many, many rhododendrons and azaleas – white, pink and red – and yes, it’s an explosion of colour when they all start blooming!
