Pink

Cooler temperatures mean clearer skies …

… and the arrival of some pretty pinks, too.

A dollop of pink cloud above a mountaintop …

… and wispy pink tendrils over the lake close out a sunny day.

I hope you’re in the pink today.

  1. Subtle paster colours are so pretty. I assume you had little or no wind. We were back up to heavy gusts again last night as +7 was replaced by – 9. But, at least it was sunny. 😁Happy Sunday Lynette. ALlan

    1. Thanks, Allan. I like the pastels, too. It was evening and the daytime wind had completely died off; it was so nice. Our temperatures are down too but the sun has disappeared also. We have to live with January for a while still … Cheers.

  2. Definitely in the blue! Blue skies and cold temperatures. It was – 3 at midnight and -22 this am…wtf these temp swings. UGH. Not near as pretty as your pink clouds.

    1. Our temperatures dropped too but now we’re completely socked in by heavy overcast which will keep us around +3 or so (it’s like a natural greenhouse effect in this valley). But that means no more sun and pretty pastel clouds. Those temperature swings are crazy! I keep reminding myself that it’s January and we are going to get more weather.

    1. Thanks, Belinda. 😊 Yes, they sure do and the sun was so nice, too. Today we’re completely socked in by a very heavy overcast which means that the natural valley greenhouse effect has taken over again and will keep us in a narrow temperature range between about -3 and +3. No extremes but very, very grey.

    1. In this part of Canada (the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia) winter is very mild, but we just had a period of temperatures that were about 7C above the usual for this time of year and also often accompanied by sun so that was very, very nice! We are usually around 3C as a daytime high but usually also very overcast. We’re back to that pattern now but of course it’s January and to be expected. Sorry to hear that you have been so cold and grey!

    1. We did have a lovely series of breaks from the overcast but we’re back at seasonal now with highs of 2 or 3 and rain, wind and very heavy overcast. It’s gloomy out but at least we’re not choked with snow and -20! Yes, clear skies at this time of year usually come with cold temperatures but at least it will be bright out. Cheers.
