It’s the first fleurday of November but I’ve luckily found some bloomers that seem to have not noticed that we’re edging toward winter!

These fairy roses are still very pretty in pink …

… while these tiny beach sunflowers are retaining their bright, happy faces.

Here’s a last look at these wonderful hydrangeas, who after providing us with beautiful colour variations since June are now deservedly fading into their winter rest.

And finally, a matador rose. They usually last well into December, providing pops of welcome colour on grey, rainy days.
Happy Friday.
as always beautiful clicks!

They sure are, aren’t they? I’m surprised a bit at how many flowers I can still find if I look.

Definitely a beautiful way to start a chilly Friday.

Thanks, Jenn. My pleasure. I saw that your end of the country was hit by a big storm. Ugh.

We did have a storm but it was rain and we really needed it so no complaints from here.

I totally understand. It took about 18 months for our water table to return to normal after the drought we had here in 2023. Any rain was good rain! Is this the first real soaking that you’ve had?

It’s amazing that the blossoms last so long into the cool, rainy weather. They’re all so pretty.

It’s so great to keep an eye out for them. 😊 Agreed, amazing that they’re still doing so well although we won’t get any frost for another few weeks so that helps. Still, the wind and rain have been nasty.

Beautiful. I noticed in my local park here in the UK that many of the flowers are giving us a bit longer than usual. A cheery sight. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you very much, Helen. Our temperatures are usual for this time of year at around 10-14C but with all the very gusty wind and rain we’ve had I’m surprised that they have lasted so well. Agreed – a very cheery sight to still see them. A good weekend to you, too!

Flowers always lighten the spirit. I imagine the matador rose bringing color to a gray day.

I agree, Mrs W, they sure do. And yes, that rose actually was bringing colour to a grey day; actually it was lightly raining!

How lucky to still see a few flowers still in bloom. The colour of the hydrangeas is stunning. We got our first snowfall on Sunday and everything is covered in snow.

Yes, definitely fortunate. Those hydrangeas still look lovely; they’re so amazing. We haven’t been very cold yet and that’s fine with me! I saw your conditions on tv. Rather poor but the Remembrance Day services will still go ahead.
