So fleurday and Halloween are on the same day! If you celebrate Halloween I wish you a monstrously good one …

… and if not, I hope you enjoy these autumnal flowers.

Flowers are beginning to be a bit difficult to find now that we’re almost into November, but this lovely sunflower still looked beautifully sunny.

I’m not entirely sure what these are although I think they might be a type of carnation. Does anyone know? No matter what they are, they’re a very pretty addition to the late autumn bloomers club.

I found this very attractive pot marigold, clearly not yet affected by our changing calendar.
Happy fleurday; happy Halloween. 🎃 🌼
That marigold looks very perky and no signs of slowing down.

They’re doing very well although we haven’t had any frost yet or temperatures anywhere near zero. Even so, I agree that they’re really quite perky and energetic!

Thanks, Thomas. 🎃 Yes, there are lots of pumpkins and squashes around right now although the flowers are becoming a bit more difficult to find! Cheers.

I’ve never liked it, but the kids (and my daughter) love it and I’m not a killjoy so I have a bag of sweets, if they come calling. Happy Friday, Lynette xx

Thanks, Jo. I’ve never cared much for it either – even when I was a kid – but I’m the same. Those who like it can go wild with chocolate, candy and costumes! Cheers.

Hi Fab Four, you’re very welcome; my pleasure. Those aren’t my pumpkins and squashes, though; I saw them at a farm market. The flowers aren’t mine either; they’re growing in a kitchen garden with which I’m familiar, but I’m glad you like them! 🎃 Cheers.

Those flowers actually aren’t mine; they’re in a kitchen garden that I know, but yes, they definitely and surprisingly are very fresh and summery looking. Happy Halloween. 🎃

Flowers are fading fast, but here in NZ spring, we are seeing so many unique blooms. Have a wonderful day Lynette. Allan

Thank you, Allan. You have really had lots of spring this year, from Vancouver to Beaumont and then to NZ! Pretty wonderful.

These are gorgeous flowers, Lynette. I don’t know what the unidentifiable flower is, but you’ve captured it beautifully. Happy Halloween!

Thank you very much, Tricia. 😊 Except for the sunflower I found them in a kitchen garden with which I’m familiar. They were certainly looking very fresh and pretty; a nice surprise at this time of year.

Beautiful captures. Hope you had a happy Halloween! We handed out a bit of candy and did a lap around the block with our little one. I think she loved seeing all the kids in their costumes more than getting candy and chocolate!

Thank you very much, Linda. Going out with M must have been a lot of fun! I noticed a similar thing with my children at that age. The early years with our kids are so precious. We did have a good Halloween although it was a shame watching the Blue Jays lose!

I know – when I was little I used to link them to my grandmother and think of them as old-people’s flowers… now I’m in my 50s I appreciate them for being perfect, exactly as they are!

Hahaha. 😊 I used to see them that way, too! But yes, they are perfect. 🌼
