Raindrops

While out for my evening walk I experienced a very steady, windless rain. Sizeable raindrops tumbled down, giving everything a generous soak.

As you can tell from the picture above it was a bit like being in a shower!

We had a very heavy overcast, but even so, a bit of the setting sun crept through, sending hope for better weather later.

Happy Sunday.

  1. We like walking in rain showers sometimes. Nice that the drops were not wind driven. We finally managed some rain here yesterday too. It went from 15C at 11 AM to 6C at 6 PM and 0C this AM. Welcome to autumn. Happy Sunday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. Exactly! Welcome to autumn. It was actually quite a pleasant temperature with the rain really coming straight down. Glad to hear that you finally got some moisture. We’re getting more today – with windy conditions too I think – and then the temperature is projected to go into the low teens. Yup – it’s autumn for sure.

    1. It really came down, Linda, in huge soaking drops but the temperature was still quite pleasant. We’re getting more today but the conditions are much worse with colder temperatures – a high of 9 – and high winds. I hope you get more rain soon – that would be great.

    1. I agree, Barbara. Unfortunately the rain was the start of a much larger system moving in and bringing much cooler temperatures, high winds and rain. In the mountains it’s apparently going to be snow at 1100 metres (3600 ft) – so not that high, really. I was being a little too optimistic, it seems! Cheers.

  2. Beautiful photos! We must have been walking at the same time. A sudden downpour came upon Nate and me as we were walking. The drops of rain were so heavy, they felt like hail at times.

    1. Thank you very much, Cecelia. 😊 These were like that too! Very fat, heavy raindrops coming straight down. It was reasonably warm, too, so it was very relaxing walking in the rain. Cheers.
