Bits of autumn are beginning to abound.

The harvest moon. This isn’t the best picture I’ve ever taken – I only had my cell with me – but I like it anyway.

A very autumnal sky conveying a sense of cooler days and nights, so different from the sunlit summer clouds.

I took the above picture on October 2 …

… and then this one three days later on October 5. This tree is definitely and quickly getting into its autumn outfit!

Rows of grapevines, some covered to protect against hungry birds while they still mature. I suspect that these may be readied for the ice wine harvest which will occur in late October or early November.
Happy Wednesday.
Our moon has been huge this past couple of nights xx

An awesome set of photos Lynette, showing the changing seasons. This autumn has been much better than we could have hoped for. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Allan

Thank you very much for your lovely compliment, Allan. We seem to be in a beautiful shoulder season stretch of weather, so welcome and appreciated after the blast furnace heat of September. Cheers.

There is something about rocks. I should have been a geologist.

There is, isn’t there? That’s quite a mountainous cliff shown in that last picture but I don’t know much about its composition. The mountain range in this region is very old, much older than the Rockies to the east of us.

Thank you very much, John. 😊 That tree is probably very red by now. I should check it out again. Cheers.

Beautiful set of captures. It’s definitely looking like fall. The cooler nights are lovely. We ended up turning our heat on the other day as it was getting a bit too cool overnight.

Thank you very much, Linda. I agree that the cooler nights – and days, too – are lovely. We’re sleeping so much better since the blast furnace has turned itself down! We haven’t needed to turn on the heat yet – a good thing since we just found out that it’s not working – but that will arrive at some point soon.
