Today is the first day of autumn so unfortunately, summer is officially over. It’s also a Monday though and because of that I hope these late summer scenes ease you through yet another weekly start.

A warm beach …

… a pretty tea rose …

… a transitioning hydrangea …

… and a sunny lake.
I hope your day goes well – happy autumn!
Gorgeous photos. The sunny lake was especially mesmerizing.

You’re very welcome. 😊 It might be autumn but the weather still feels summer.

Our little hydrangea bush is beginning to do this transition, too. Fascinating to see it change each day.

I agree, Ally. Some hydrangeas don’t alter colour at all but many of them do and yes, it’s fascinating to watch as they change a bit every day.

Like flicking a switch, but truth is, autumn has been coming for a while. Autumn is a great time to get outside. Have a good Monday Lynette. Allan

Thanks, Allan. Yes, the official start of autumn is like flicking a switch but agreed, we have been seeing signs for a while even though the temperature has been in the 30s. Yesterday a lot of very steady rain though and it seems we will be getting temperatures in the high 20s., so much more comfortable and good to be outside. Cheers.

Lovely photos as always, Lynette! I think summer is over when the weather turns frosty in the morning.

Thank you very much, John. 😊 Yes, I always feel a bit that way, too. Frost is a long way off, though. Probably another month or more.

Hi Lynette, these pictures did indeed ease me into my Monday – thank you! Fall is my favorite season, so even though I’m sad to see the summer go by, I always look forward to the change. 🙂

I’m glad to hear that; thanks, Barbara. 😊 I am always sad to see summer go as well, but yes, I very much enjoy autumn, as well. We’re still quite hot here and I really would like it to cool off now!

So humid here today – ugh!

No humidity here, thankfully!

That’s nice! Humidity is just part of the east coast during the warm months – can’t get away from it. 😉

It definitely is, unfortunately. I understand as I am originally from the east. I really don’t like it though especially as I age and my interior temperature controls become more and more rickety!

Lovely captures. It feels like summer ended awhile ago given the cooler weather and early changing of the leaves. I hope this means we have a longer fall then!

Thank you very much, Linda. Ours cooled off a bit after a good rain on Sunday but temperatures are gradually climbing again. It really hasn’t been very autumnal here yet. I hope we get a long one, too!
