We took a drive on a rough back road high above Okanagan Lake …

… and the more and more we climbed …

… the more we enjoyed the views as we went …

… until we began to reach the top of the mountain range …

… and through the heat haze could see the shape of this lengthy body of water …

… along with the seemingly narrow line of a distant bridge across the lake.
Happy Monday.
Beautiful views of Okanagan Lake Lynette

A great sequence Lynette. It is nice to get the overlook from on high, especially if it brings coolness. Happy Monday. Allan

Thank you very much, Allan. It was definitely a lot cooler up there and I was surprised by the heat haze as it had only gotten to 29. Usually that’s something we see after several 30+ days. Cheers.

That was an interesting perspective. The lake is much bigger than I had thought.

Yes, it’s very long and narrow, a fjord lake. 135 km (84 miles) long and 4-5 km wide (approx 2.5 miles). Getting above it really showcases that shape. Cheers.

It sure is, isn’t it? We hadn’t gone up there in a long time and it was great to see that view again.

Thank you very much, Belinda. It’s 1250 metres of elevation so it’s much cooler up there although we’re just now starting to get the higher temperatures with 33 today. I enjoyed having for the most part a much cooler than usual June!

Great pictures, Lynette – I also like the sequencing as you climbed up the mountain. That bridge down there does look narrow 🙂 Hope you are doing well!

Thank you very much, Barbara. 😊 That bridge is a big, 650 metre (2133 ft), four-lane behemoth with a lift-span for tall ships, but from up in the mountain it indeed looks very small!
