Evening Ramble

We had a heavy, late afternoon shower followed by clearing skies and the fresh scent of spring grass, leaves and flowers.

As everything began to dry off, the sun started to set behind the mountains.

Meanwhile, I found some freshly washed western azaleas to admire …

… blooming profusely with their relatives …

… the rhododendrons.

Happy Wednesday.

    1. It sure is. At the moment there’s a public garden here that’s loaded with both (some of my rhodie and azalea pictures come from there). It’s stunningly beautiful right now. Many people go there to enjoy lunch or just to sit and read. It’s wonderful to see. Cheers.

  1. So beautiful! We had a massive rain yesterday afternoon/evening when I was out driving (Wednesday, so the day after yours) and I was so afraid it would start hailing. Fortunately it didn’t hail but I did get soaked on my way into an event. I didn’t get any pictures of flowers until today because it didn’t clear until late. Plus the temperature dropped and it was COLD!

    1. We’re having a really great spring with both sun and rain; so much better than drought conditions! Everything is just so green and blooming. I remember those terrific downpours from when I lived in the prairies, often accompanied by hail and thunder/lightning. The temperature differential could be massive!
