April 25’s Friday Fleurday

These flowering plums are definitely pretty in pink …

… with their lush and lovely bloomings.

Against green leaves and a blue sky …

… it’s difficult to find something more symbolic of spring.

Happy Friday.

  1. They are so beautiful Lynette, giving stiff competition to cherry trees. There are whole streets lined with them here in Victoria, but they are nearing the end and petals are dropping like pink snow. Happy Friday. Allan

    1. Thanks, Allan. I agree; they certainly do give the cherry trees some stiff competition! The blooms are so heavy that they droop. And that heady scent. Beautiful. Yes, they don’t last long but my, are they gorgeous!

    1. Thank you very much for your lovely description. They definitely do seem to glow in the sunlight and the colour so strongly reminds me of spring growth and youth. I walk past this bush nearly every day and always stop to admire it before the blooms are gone. Cheers.

    1. Thank you very much, Linda. This one is an ornamental but the orchard fruit blossoms are also very pretty. Not as ostentatious as the ones pictured, though. Right now there are plum trees blooming everywhere. Beautiful.
