Thanks, Allan. Unfortunately, I think his cruise had a more prosaic purpose since all his buddies were already at their roost further up the creek, so he was paddling his little feet off to catch up!
He does! There’s a rather large, resident mallard flock in one of the lake front parks here. They’re completely babied and even the city will provide them with grain if it gets too cold. Basically they’re city pets.
Yes, like Canada Geese, when I was a kid in Michigan, we lived on a large lake and of course the geese had to poo all over the yard. Our Standard Poodle was great at chasing them off.
Wow! That’s cold, Lori! You are really getting walloped by a cold snap. We’re at 1C (34F), but that’s usual winter weather for this valley. What’s not usual are these clear skies we’ve been having. Normally it’s rain, rain, rain but we’re getting the loveliest sunsets and blue skies, so it’s pretty wonderful. I hope you’re able to cozy up with comfort foods and hot chocolate. 😊
Just gorgeous! Have a happy day, Lynette.

Sunlight reflected on water is so gorgeous, how could this guy not go for a cruise. Happy Tuesday Lynette. Allan

Everyone likes them so much, even though they can be very messy!

The colors are soft and warm, even in winter. BTW, it’s -19c here at the noon hour (-3f).

if that were here in Vermont, he’d have to be wearing ice skates!

Yes, I understand that you’re getting some terribly cold weather. At least you have lots of great knitted things to keep you warm!

Thank you very much, Belinda. The ducks here actually are rather lucky as everyone treats this resident flock like pets. 😊

We had such a beautiful string of days (that have now ended, unfortunately) and the sunsets were stellar. It was a lovely January break.
