Thank you. I agree, Allan. It definitely did look like a taunt for sure! It was about 5 out, so not as cold as it appears, but we definitely have that winter look! Today I awoke to a smattering of snow – it won’t last because our high today will be 4, but there’s no doubt that winter is here!
On the other hand, it started raining here last night about 8 PM and rained a good chunk of the night and again this morning before flipping to snow. Glad I’m not out there driving. Cheers.
I really dislike it when that happens. You’re so right, Allan; it’s great to be able to stay at home when there’s a nice layer of snow over the ice. Ugh.
Dark, cloudy winter sky. We went backcountry skiing on the continental divide yesterday. On the BC side is was snowing so hard we could hardly see. Back at our car in Alberta it was barely snowing and the clouds were dispersing. It was crazy and so obvious where the line is. Maggie
It’s amazing to actively see why it’s referred to as a “divide,” isn’t it? In some ways weather can be so very predictable. We get a smaller version of that here with the way cloud travels through the valley. I hope you had a good skiing day in spite of all the snowfall. Cheers.
Agreed – those colours really looked very cold. No, no spring blossoms yet and we’re looking at another month for sure, but you’re right, not long now!
Beautiful view and happy Saturday Lynette.

It looks beautiful and also very cold!

It actually wasn’t as cold as it looks. 5C (41F) or so when I took these pictures, but it really appears gloweringly cold, doesn’t it? Cheers.

That is a winter lake Lynette. The faint sunset view is like a taunt. Happy Saturday. Allan

There can be colour in the grey and cold winter, you just have to be patient and willing to wait and look for it. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Linda

Thank you very much, Linda. That’s very true! When I saw how bluish-grey the sky was, spotting that bit of pink in there was quite surprising. Cheers.

It does, doesn’t it? But it actually was about 5 out, so really not that bad. That overcast sure looked serious, though!

I guess it’s all the cool colours – grays and blues – that give that impression. No spring blossoms yet. But it won’t be long.

The ‘pink blush’ warms the scene! Really lovely photos 😊

Thank you very much, Belinda. It’s amazing what shows up, even when the sky looks like Thor is about to throw his throw his hammer really hard!

It’s the subtle tones of colour, isn’t it? We need to slow down our gaze, and really see what’s there — you’ve captured it beautifully

Thank you very much, Penny. It definitely is. It was a lovely little sight, there amidst all that dark, glowering overcast.
