A Bit of Sun

Here in the Okanagan, the natural weather pattern in the winter is rain, but now and then we get some very precious sunny periods.

When a bit of December afternoon sun arrives …

… it’s a very lovely thing …

… to be treasured and prized to get us through the next onslaught of rain.

Happy Monday.

  1. The last shot is my favourite, with the pastel warmth spreading across the water. Sun of any nature is a gift in winter, brining brightness to the dark season. Happy Monday Lynette. Allan

    1. Thank you very much, Allan. Agreed – it’s so great to see the sun at this time of year and it was nice to awaken to some this morning, too! Unfortunately, our forecast says that the rest of the week will be wall-to-wall rain. Definitely no snow or sun, but at least our drought is apparently cured!

    1. I agree, Maggie. I have lots of pictures of it from all angles. Often there are birds perched on it which I like, too. There is actually another old post visible (not in this photo) but only a few centimetres of it are left above the water. I’m not sure why the city left the remains there (it’s what’s left of the old train dock – all elements of which are otherwise completely gone) but they are picturesque.

  2. Disregard that question, Lynette. I went to the Help on WP and they said to go to Settings>General>Snowflake option, click enable, and then Save Settings. I like the look of it and it goes only until Jan 4th so if it drives anyone crazy, they can recover on Jan.5.
